Testimonials
Denmark PilongoCustomer Service Specialist "I am glad I found The American Institute because they helped me in improving my conversation fluency and developing my confidence. At first, I was very intimidated when speaking in English, but I became more and more comfortable. I am currently working as customer service specialist in the BPO/Call Center industry, and I have The American Institute to thank for. I am still a part of the institute through their English Club called Universal Pro-English Club. We've done many activities including trips to Baguio, Lucena, interview strategies, and many more so that we can use English in a natural setting." Alice AnodAccountant and Auditor "The English language Specialists are very different from all the teachers I've had in high school or college. Most teachers I've had in the past were very strict and distanced themselves from the students, but these guys will make you feel like you're one of them. In fact, we call them by their first names, not "sir" or ma'am." They respect us as students with individuality, and at the same time, we respect them for their knowledge and expertise. I used to work for a relatively small local bank, but now I work for a major international firm after developing my speech and communication skills through them." Elaine VillafuerteHotel Operations Specialist "Before I came to The American Institute, I was already somewhat confident with my English; I simply wanted to polish my speech and communication skills. What I found was that I had so much more to learn. They really taught me how not to just speak English, but how to speak WELL. I was able to improve my critical thinking skills and became a more organized speaker. Now, I work for a five-star hotel, and I am so much more confident when dealing with local executives as well as foreign business professionals. I would highly recommend their services." Sam Milby, an accomplished student leader here in the Philippines was chosen by the Department of Education to become the “youth spokesperson” at the DepEd’s annual National Leadership Training for Student Government Officers at Teachers Camp tomorrow in Baguio City.

My daughter, Alexa, turned eight on September 3. Of course, I took a leave from work to prepare for her after school party. I cooked Filipino-style spaghetti , which is a wee bit sweeter than regular spghetti; and fried chicken – using the Del Monte Fried Chicken Mix which my daughter loves. I [...]
Today is September 5, 2008, and it’s a Friday. It was raining earlier but now it stopped. Regardless of the strange and uncomfortable weather lately, today is a beautiful day. Maybe for you, today is just an ordinary day, but for me, today is a very special day.
It’s my first year anniversary here at AIEP. [...]
I just finished reading Mitch Albom’s for one more day, and I have learned several things from it. Sometimes, we forget the basic things in life because we are caught up with work, relationships, friends, and then more work. This book reminded me of some of the basic, but extremely valuable lessons in life.
First, we [...]
In my barangay, there isn’t much change after 20 years. The roads are still narrow and unpaved. The public building structures are dilapidated. There is no new industry. Tambayan, or chilling drinking beer and gin, at night. When I visit my folks there and ask them, “How are you?” they habitually reply, “Kastoy latta.” In [...]
Hi, everyone! Welcome to Neysa’s Notes. I’m not new to journal writing but blogging is something I’ve never done before. I guess it’s time I put into writing my rantings, ravings, and ramblings about what goes on around me. Life is hard as it is but let me try to bring a little sunshine your [...]
Ring! Ring!
I got a phone call from a company whose name I didn’t know. It was weird because I hadn’t applied for any job. So while I was talking to her, in the back of my mind, I was like thought, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Still, I pretended [...]
When I went to the US at the age of 9, I did not know how to speak English. Sure, I spoke the very basic, “My - name - is - Chris. I - am - nine - years - old. I - like - chicken. My - favorite - color - is…” For a [...]
My computer finally gave in today. It could no longer take the workload I was giving. I’ve filled it’s luggage to the max. Yes, I have officially reached its storage capacity of 80GB. So, I decided to go treasure hunting for a new gadget, and found this fire red 160GB external Hard Drive called My [...]
