WELCOME

Welcome to The American Institute’s English Cafe, a conversation practice program. We are passionate about helping students improve their language skills and become more confident. We believe that conversation practice is an essential part of the learning process. Many students of the English language learn only in the classroom and sometimes have difficulty finding speaking partners, but we believe that the ability to use the English language more confidently involves practice outside of the classroom.

Many English language learners sometimes do not improve as quickly as they could because they are not able to use English regularly. Therefore, we have created the American Institute’s English Cafe to make sure you continue to use the language as much as possible.

ABOUT

The American Institute’s Conversation Practice Program involves engaging students in spoken communication in English online via Zoom. The goal of conversation practice is to provide students with opportunities to use and improve their English language skills in real-life situations. Though there will be times your conversation partner will teach you grammar, writing, and speaking, the practice focuses more on engaging you in a discussion.

HOW TO ENROLL

All you have to do is decide which package (starter, standard, or super) below you would like to enroll in, make your payment and book your classes via our appointment system on Facebook.

PREMIUM PROGRAMS

If you want a certified Specialist to go beyond conversation practice and cover in-depth discussions on grammar, writing, speaking, listening, reading, American accent, IELTS, TOEFL, and more, we highly encourage you enroll in our regular classes. You may enroll in a group class, a private class, or both.

CWIG

Critical Writing and Intensive Grammar: This course covers foundations on grammar and writing, including sentence structure, verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, prepositions, and punctuation, and different types of writing such as essay, persuasive, informative, descriptive, technical, and business correspondence. There are no speech and public speaking modules in this course as grammar and writing are the main topics.

Flexibility: You will be able to plot your own schedule (days). Though we recommend that you attend daily, we will allow a minimum of three days a week attendance. We will send you a link to our specific modules and what days they will be conducted so that you can decide which days to attend.

LEO Schedule: 10am-12pm, Monday to Friday, via Zoom

F2F Schedule: None

NOTE: This is strictly a grammar and writing class; there is no speech, public speaking, conversation fluency, or American accent. However, the Specialist will engage the students and will assign group work during the class, so be prepared to always participate. If you would like to have speaking in your program as well, we highly suggest the CXL course.

Since there are many modules being covered, we highly recommend that you take as many hours as possible to go through each of the module and gain better mastery of the different concepts.

CXL

Communication Excellence Lab: This course is a fusion of the courses, which means that the coverage is more comprehensive in terms of modules: writing, grammar, speech, public speaking, business presentation, conversation fluency, critical thinking, confidence building, and American accent. You will undergo individual, paired, and group presentations as well collaborate with co-participants in grammar and writing activities.

LEO Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:15pm – 10:15pm)

F2F Schedule: Monday to Friday (3pm-5pm). We are adhering to strict health and safety measures. Please make sure that you have a face mask, face shield, and alcohol with you.

NOTE: This is a combination class of CWIG + PSE + AA. The class is roughly divided in to 45% grammar and writing, 45% public speaking and conversation fluency, and 10% American accent. Please check the CXL Modules on Google Sheets provided to you.

Since there are many modules being covered, we highly recommend that you take as many hours as possible to go through each of the module and gain better mastery of the different concepts.
